OWLsssssssssss

Overwatch

Based on Barn Owls I wanted to design a type of sentient UAV. It's sole purpose is to provide reconnaissance through a suite of multi spectral cameras, audio receptors, GPS tracking, and radar. The body consists of a light but durable frame with layers of artificial muscle which allow it move like its actual counterpart. Mini-jets located at different locations on the body help it stabilize in flight and when prepping for landing. Radar absorbent paints and fabrics, heat sinks, jamming devices, and noise dampening systems help in keeping the unit hidden from hostile forces. OWL's are typically deployed at night and in pairs to support each other. Typical assignments include aerial recon, stationary recon, and as spotters for gunships, vehicles, artillery, and troops.

I'll post some more work soon. I just started up my 2nd semester at Red Engine, so there's going to be another big batch of new content coming up in the next few months.

Red Engine 2012

Hey everyone!

So I made it through the 12 week semester at Red Engine here in LA. I took the Adv. Entertainment Design class with Jung Park and Steve Jung. It was a great experience with lots of talented people and I'd do it all over again in a flash.

Now for the work!

I went back again to the Egypt Project and set it to the story "Aida." "Aida" is an Italian Opera written by Guiseppe Verdi during the 1800's. It's romantic tragedy which takes place during the height of Ancient Egypt. What I did was give it a sci-fi spin based on the previous work I did.

Enjoy!

Hound

Hey everyone!

Here's another painting I'd like to share with you all. It's another sci-fi lady piece. Quite fun to paint and   it's been a good practice/learning experience for me as well.

Big Update

Hey guys!
I started taking classes last week at Red Engine here in LA, so I wanted to share what I did for the first assignment. Our assignment was to do some environment sketches/paintings to help establish where our story is taking place. Much to my surprise I put out these 8 paintings during this week. More than double the output of the Adv. Perspective class I took back at AAU.

Also!

New Egypt is being repurposed into my own visualization of the opera "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi. I'll be taking what I've previously done into this project which will help the New Egypt project get what it lacked the most: A story with characters.

Wish me luck! I'll keep you guys posted on progress.
